Through an agreement entered into under Michigan’s Urban Cooperative Act (“Enabling Agreement”), the fifteen (15) counties in the Upper Peninsula and the Hannahville Tribe have created a legal entity to be known as the Upper Peninsula State Fair Authority. The U.P. State Fair Authority is responsible for coordinating and providing a variety of services related to the U.P. State Fair and the fairgrounds for the citizens of the Upper Peninsula.
The Authority strives to support the U.P. State Fair in its mission to provide a venue for displaying, encouraging, and supporting agricultural and industrial pursuits in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and its related area in the Upper Midwest.
UPCAP is the Administrative Agent for the Authority.
